Jonathan R. Schettino, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression. I am a full member of the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) and routinely attend conferences and trainings to ensure that my treatment approach for anxiety and depression is informed by the latest psychological science. Other areas where I enjoy working with clients include relationship difficulties, identity and phase-of-life concerns, career counseling, workplace stress and burnout, and men's issues. Although I primarily use CBT in my work with clients, I also incorporate positive and strength-based psychology, mindfulness, and other evidence-based treatments into my practice in order to provide my clients with as many effective tools as possible to achieve their goals.
Because of my professional experience working at several universities and medical institutions both here in the United States and abroad, I am particularly familiar with the unique therapeutic needs and challenges of college students, graduate students, expats, researchers, professors, higher education professionals, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Here are some of my career highlights:
-B.A. in psychology from Princeton University (2004)
-Pre-doctoral internship at Saint Elizabeths forensic psychiatric hospital (2011 - 2012)
-Ph.D. in clinical psychology from UCLA (2012)
-Postdoctoral training in personality assessment at Freie University in Berlin in (2012 - 2013)

-Employee Assistance Psychologist at Johns Hopkins (2015 - 2017)
-Senior Threat Assessment Specialist at Johns Hopkins University (2017-present)
In addition to my work at PsychForward, I serve as the Senior Threat Assessment Specialist at Johns Hopkins University and Health System, where I conduct workplace and campus violence threat assessments. I am a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, the premier professional organization for threat assessment professionals in the United States. I also maintain an affiliation with the Department of Psychology at University of Potsdam in Germany, where I assist in personality assessment research. My personal interests include traveling, languages, outdoor activities, cooking, science-fiction, world history, pub trivia, rooting for the San Francisco 49ers (I'm a child of the 80's), and staying involved in local issues affecting Baltimore.
